The LOVOO HQ in Dresden welcomed some important official visitors yesterday when Brigitte Zypries, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy, and Martin Dulig, state chairman of the SPD Saxony dropped by the office.

The reason for the visit was to chat over coffee about the extraordinary development of the IT and mobile industry in the German state of Saxony.

LOVOO is considered to be exotic in the startup scene, especially for its success outside of the creative startup metropolis of Berlin, having establishing itself 3 years ago in Saxony’s capital.

The foundation for building a startup in Dresden was excellent, with highly trained developers from the TU and HTW Dresden within reach, the choice to build LOVOO there, just made sense. But in the current politico-economic environment, LOVOO’s experience has not yet been tested by other burgeoning companies.

It is recognized, however, that Dresden is on the horizon and that the startup scene Germany should be extended to other states.

There was plenty to chat about, but we didn’t let Zypries and Dulig get away with out a group selfie!
