Your tasks

  • Maintain our Big Data infrastructure
  • Support our Analytics Team in moving from an on-site Hadoop to Google BigQuery
  • Automate the import and structuring of data from external and internal sources
  • Define and evangelize BigQuery-related optimizations and best practices to improve reliability and performance
  • Collaborate with our Analysts and Data Scientists in optimizing and deploying their jobs
  • Research new techniques and explore the newest technologies regarding data processing tools
  • Continuous professional improvements through company-wide TechTalks
  • Participate in Hackathons as well as attending national and international conferences

Our requirements

  • University degree in informatics, mathematics or a comparable subject
  • Ideally several years of professional experience in a similar position, preferably in the field of online gaming or dating
  • Experience of working in Linux-shell environments
  • Willing to learn and comfortable to apply different languages – such as Go, Python or Java – depending on the task at hand
  • Good knowledge of Database Systems and SQL and basic knowledge of Docker
  • Comfortable to work in a software development lifecycle, including version control (git), automated testing, code reviews, etc.
  • Basic understanding of distributed systems (CAP Theorem)
  • Knowledge of Hadoop and/or Google BigQuery and/or AWS/GCP would be a plus
  • Transparent and open communication style and a developed team-player mentality
  • Expert English skills, basic knowledge of German
